What is the Difference Between Class B CDL and Class A CDL?
One of the biggest differences between a Class A and a Class B CDL is the weight and type of vehicle, specifically towing capacity. A Class A CDL will allow you to operate combination vehicles (tractor-trailers) with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) over 26,000 lbs., towing trailers over 10,000 lbs. A Class B CDL is limited to single vehicles over 26,001 lbs., usually towing less than 10,000 lbs.
