What Makes This a Restricted License?
A typical Class A license is known as a tractor-trailer semi using a fifth-wheel coupling system. This license uses a pintle hook coupling system. (Pintle Hook & Ring) But it still allows you to pull a pintle hook trailer that weights more than 10,000 pounds. However, you cannot drive a tractor-trailer combination, you have a restriction on your license. That letter will be an O (The driver cannot operate a class A vehicle with a fifth-wheel connection.)
